Do this in the 10 minutes after customs and every option below becomes a tap-and-go. A T-money card costs ₩3,000–5,000 and comes empty — load it with Korean Won cash at the counter (₩10,000–20,000 covers your first days of transit).

The Express and All-Stop trains are paid for differently — this trips up most first-time visitors.
Express (₩11,000, 43 min, non-stop): needs a dedicated ticket. Buy it at the orange Express machines at the AREX station (B1) — they have an English menu and accept foreign Visa and Mastercard. Booked on Klook? Redeem your voucher at the AREX Travel Center next to the gates before boarding.
All-Stop (~₩4,150–4,750, more stops): no ticket needed — just tap your T-money or WOWPASS at the gate, like the regular subway. No transit card? Buy a single-journey ticket from the blue machines (₩500 deposit, refunded at your destination).
Tagging: tap the card flat on the reader at the gate. If the gate rejects it, your balance is too low — reload at the machines next to the gates (cash only for reloads).
Two ways to pay — paper ticket or tap. Both end at the same hotel door.
Ticket booth: counters on the arrivals floor near the exits sell tickets for a specific route and departure — pay with credit card or cash. Tell the agent your hotel or district (Myeongdong, Hongdae, Gangnam) and they'll pick the route for you.
Tap on board: most routes let you tap a T-money card at the door when boarding — no ticket needed. Tap again when you get off, or the system charges the full-route fare next time.
Luggage: the driver loads it under the bus and hands you a numbered tag — keep it, it's checked at drop-off.

The easiest payment of the three — every licensed taxi takes plastic.
At the stand: follow the taxi signs to the official stands and queue — never accept rides offered inside the terminal. International taxis with English-speaking drivers have a separate desk on the arrivals floor.
Paying: credit cards and T-money are accepted in all licensed taxis — pay at the end of the ride, no cash needed. Expect ₩70,000+ to central Seoul, plus the toll road fee shown separately on the meter.
